- Perform medical record lookback as part of payback (up to and including 1-year of services provided).
- Perform Compliance Hotline Coding Audits.
- Perform Provider and staff education by advocating proper documentation practices that more accurately reflect the acuity, severity, and occurrence of events.
- Oversee the concurrent review coding process for providers until 95% accuracy rate has been achieved
- Review and determine any CPT codes that CPMG and GSHA can code however have not coded
- Coordinate new procedure implementation at the hospitals (profee) and practices.
- Perform Baseline Medical Record audit for all CPMG/GSHA providers.
- Perform Monthly Medical Record audit for providers with over 5% error rate from baseline audit results.
- Coordinate efforts for Federal Subpoena Medical Record Audits.
- Communicate with providers regarding documentation deficiencies (i.e., missing teaching physician attestation, critical care time) and provide education.
- Educate residents on coding and documentation guidelines.
- Conduct on-going random coding audits to ensure adherence to current CCI edits, LCD coverage along with current, payor medical necessity policies, accepted compliance standard and principles.
- Initiate analyses of patient medical records and oversees assigns and sequences appropriate diagnostic/procedure billing codes in compliance with documentation and of third-party payer requirements.
- Educate providers on CCI edits and LCD medical necessity policies.
- Review medical policies to indicate a clinical bases for medical necessity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary and ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; and providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Provides care by administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, sitz and therapeutic baths
- Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine and recording intake and output information.
- Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients’ call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to nursing supervisor.
- Handles the care and cleaning of specific equipment, stocking of supplies and equipment and the transportation of patients, supplies and equipment.
