The Medical Director is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a healthcare facility. Duties include reviewing healthcare laws and regulations to implement in daily practices, monitoring facility or department budgets and developing strategies to improve communication between medical professionals and patients.

The successful candidate will be able to:

• Develop, oversee and Manage Daily Operations and Strategic Plan of Rapid Decision Unit (Observation Unit)
• Develop policy and procedural foundations for ongoing success
• Oversee staff recruitment and development
• Oversee financial performance and utilization
• Oversee regulatory adherence and risk management/mitigation
• Works across the institution to drive success and buy-in of operational goals

• Promotes a high reliability organization with a Just Culture. 

• Other duties as assigned.

• Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine with experience in Observation Medicine
• Strong history of relationship building and creative problem solving
• Strong clinical knowledge base, utilizing best practice and standards of care to assure safety yet operational efficiency
• Administrative or Managerial Experience preferred
• Clinical/Administrative ratio anticipated 60/40% but negotiable based on needs and performance
• Skill in organizing work, delegating, and achieving goals and objectives.
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and change.
• Ability to guide management in its responsibilities while maintaining commitment to effective team functioning.
