What You'll Be Doing

The Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the delivery of care. The RN assumes the responsibility and accountability for the delegation of patient care to other members of the health care team. As an integral member of the health care team, coordinates patient care and communicates and collaborates extensively with the other members of the healthcare team, patients and/or patient's family or significant other(s). Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  1. Evaluate and monitor the patient’s progress.
  2. Order, interpret and evaluate diagnostics tests to identify and assess the patient’s condition.
  3. Deliver regular updates to physicians, patients, and their family members.
  4. Begin treatment and monitor doses.
  5. If necessary, respond to a medical emergency and alert the appropriate doctors.
  6. Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in the ICU unit.
  7. Maintain patient records.
  8. Create and implement effective care plans.
  9. Responsible for maintaining care standards in the ICU department
  10. Assist in the care of traumas, cardiac arrests, strokes, and other triage situations.
  11. Demonstration of sound decision-making in emergency scenarios based on patient conditions such as vital signs, patient presentation, and assessments.
  12. Consult and coordinate with health care team members about whole patient care plans.
  13. Monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
  14. Assist physicians with procedures as requested
  15. Ensure that equipment is working properly while in use and stored properly after use.
  16. Responding to life-saving situations, using nursing standards and protocols for treatment.
  17. Act as a patient advocate.
  18. Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

What We're Looking For

$5000 sign-on bonus!

 

Full Time Day shift, 7am-730pm with alternating weekends.

  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN Preferred
  • Previous critical care experience including but not limited to angioplasty, ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, ICP, ECG interpretation, defibrillation, AICD, transcutaneous and transvenous pacing, physical assessments, transporting critically ill patients.
  • Current New Jersey Registered Nurse License.
  • Completion of a critical care course, CCRN preferred, completion of BLS, ACLS (American Heart Association), and IV certification. 
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

A minimum of one (1) year RN experience is required to qualify for the sign-on bonus (*)
