PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: (includes but are not limited to the following)
Clinical:
Coordinates employee annual physical examinations
Administer immunizations.
Providing clinical emergency medical treatment for occupational injury or illness;
Providing clinical emergency care for non-occupational injury or illness;
Performing follow up care/treatment for occupational injury or illness.
Obtaining and maintaining accurate and complete medical records on employees via Cority EMR.
Tracks Injury or illness data electronically.
Ensuring any necessary medical equipment and supplies are always maintained and ready for use.
Discusses laboratory and health screening results with employees/participants. Provides appropriate
referrals, as necessary.
Coordinating drug and alcohol testing (post incident and for-cause); and administering company policy
regarding drug and alcohol testing.
Apply evidence-based healthcare practices and nursing standards.
Managerial:
Participate in the organization’s Health and Safety committees.
• Collaborates with management in development of objectives for employee health services compatible
with goals and objectives of the hospital.
Performs safety rounds with Safety Officer of the physical plant to ensure basic Infection
Control/Prevention and safety practices are adhered to maintain a safe environment for patients,
physicians, volunteers, visitors, and hospital employees.
Responsible for the quality assurance program of the employee health service, such as monthly statistics
on COVID-19, Workplace Injuries and Injuries, Tuberculosis exposure/screening, Hepatitis screening,
MMRV exposure/screening.
Works closely with the Infection Control practitioner and Human Resources Department
Manage the return-to-work program within the hospital.
Provides expertise and counsel to the organization in matters of occupational health and safety,
workers' compensation, and any other relevant areas of occupational medicine.
Ensures that the staff is trained to perform their duties as directed by the job description safely.
Address any personnel issues to promote a productive and supportive work environment
Performing case management of both work-related and non-work-related injuries and illnesses.
Develops, maintains, and delivers wellness programs that provide education and continuing
health improvement.
Attend training programs and meetings as directed to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (required)
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 2-3 years of clinical and/or occupational nursing experience (required)
Knowledge in OSHA specific regulations; ability to read and interpret company policies, regulatory
guidelines, and other work-related documentation.
LICENSURE/QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid NJ RN license
BLS from AHA
Certification in Occupational Health (preferred)
Ability to abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and
communications.
Skill in providing thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the
organization.
Ability to complete work within the required timelines including short, long, and emergent timelines.
Ability to work with others to accomplish challenging assignment.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time.
