What You'll Be Doing

  • Organize and monitor daily operations of incomplete record process including assembly, analysis and re-analysis of records. 
  • Organize and monitor daily operations of filing areas including bar-code system, open & closed filing, purging, and online records. 
  • Organize and monitor release of information functions.
  • Organize and monitor prepping, scanning/indexing and qc of scanned records.
  • Performance of continuous and annual job evaluations on all employees. 
  • Ordering of office supplies for the department. 
  • Monitor and maintain an accurate MPI and the processing and tracking of medical record audits (internal/external).

 

Physical Requirements: Lifting, stretching, and/or carrying of >10 pounds may be required.

Reports to:  Director of Health Information Services

Contacts:   Physician’s and physician’s office staff, subordinates, BMC management staff and other BMC employees.                                  

Supervises: Analyzers, Re-Analyst, File Clerks. Assemblers, ROI staff, and Coders

 

What We're Looking For

Education:  High School graduate.  Bachelor or Associate degree in Health Information Management/Technology preferred.

 

Experience:  Minimum of 5 years work experience in a health information (medical records) department or a registered health information administrator or technician.  Knowledge of management process. Knowledge of JCAHO, DHHS, Federal and HIPAA Rules and Regulations.    

 

Licensure/Qualifications: R.H.I.A. OR R.H.I.T preferred
