MAIN FUNCTIONS: Understands the concept of medicare billing and RUGS III; Proficient in completing the MDS; Responsible for completing, assigning, and overseeing MDS for timeliness and accuracy; Proficient in automatic transmission of MDS to NJ Department of Health. Participates in case management meetings; Sets assessment reference dates; Evaluates all rehab and nursing care documentation; Communicates with admissions, billing, unit personnel, physicians, and resident to collect necessary information; Contacts outside facilities as necessary; Sends RUG scores to billing office for billing purposes.
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
EXPERIENCE:3 years experience in a skilled nursing sub-acute care facility with at least one year experience with MDS processing and completion.
LICENSURE/QUALIFICATIONS: Current license to practice professional nursing in New Jersey; Completes I.V. certification course as Hospital policy; Completes CPR certification course as per Hospital policy; R.N. Completes Phlebotomy Certification as per Hospital policy.
