What You'll Be Doing

The phlebotomist performs venipuncture, capillary blood collection and other specimen collection for all age groups. Additional duties may include specimen processing, point of care testing and documentation and patient registration.

 

  • Perform and execute proper phlebotomy techniques in order to obtain patient blood samples via a needle stick.
  • Review laboratory requisitions and test orders for accuracy prior to performing phlebotomy.
  • Ensure proper and accurate specimen labeling and records collection and receipt of specimens in the laboratory system.
  • Centrifuging and preparing specimens for pick up.
  • Adhere to proper infection control practices and HIPAA policies and procedures.

What We're Looking For

Full Time -Evening shift

Per Diem-Varied shifts available
Rotating weekends and holidays

 

  • High School Graduate/GED required. 
  • Phlebotomy Certification from National Phlebotomy Association required. 
  • 0-1 related experience required; 2-4 related experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of principles of infection control and general anatomy required.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, attention to detail, self-motivated and work in an efficient and effective manner. The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving patient experience and patient satisfaction with exceptional focus on teamwork.
