Operates Sonographic equipment to produce images for interpretation and maintain the integrity and quality of the Vascular Department. Performs non-invasive vascular techniques including carotid artery scan, PVR’s and all related studies. The vascular tech must possess the knowledge and skill levels that demonstrate quality performance and productivity in a patient-orientated environment. Other related duties and responsibilities as determined by the hospital at its sole and exclusive discretion.

• Education: Technical School (required) Graduate of an Accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound with emphasis on vascular applications.
• Work experience: 0-1 (required). 2-4 years (preferred).
• Ability to recognize peripheral vascular and cardiac abnormalities and to obtain additional views or perform cardiac dopplers as indicated.
• Ability to operate all vascular testing equipment, EKG machines, as well as ultrasound equipment in the unit.
• Able to perform all scanning procedures.
• Licensure/Certifications: ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS) certification and AHA BLS required. ARDMS Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification preferred.
