Serves as a member of the critical care team by assisting in management of critically ill patients in the hospital. The Central Service Technician provides sterile instruments and decontaminated, safe equipment for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Patient Care Director.   He/She cleans, disinfects, assembles, packages and sterilizes surgical instruments; tests, operates and monitors sterilization equipment; documents and maintains sterilization records; assembles surgical supplies; and decontaminates, disinfects and distributes patient care equipment. The Central Service Technician must demonstrate knowledge of: sterilization supplies and requirements, equipment and instruments; organizing, containing, and transporting items of varying compounds, textures or quantities; transporting and disposing of hazardous materials and sharp objects according to hospital procedures. He/She must demonstrate knowledge of sterilization procedures of various equipment and instruments and knowledge of wrapping and repackaging sterilized instruments.   The Tech must demonstrate the following skills: using sterilization equipment and instruments; arranging instruments on surgical trays; following written instructions and performing multiple tasks; and in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.

The Licensed Clinician is responsible for assessing, counseling, intervening, implementing and educating the patient, family/significant others to facilitate movement throughout the continuum of care.   Makes psychosocial assessments appropriate to patient’s age and diagnoses. - Appropriately prioritizes cases according to assessed needs. - Written assessments completed within 24 hours of assessment. - Documented assessment demonstrates understanding of patient’s functional status and psychosocial situation. - Assessments are completed based on information obtained from patients, families/significant others, staff and interdisciplinary rounds as needed. - Assessment prepares for the possibility of changes in the patient’s condition/status. - Assessments are updated as new information is obtained. Under the direction of the VP of Revenue Cycle, plans, organizes and directs functions and activities of Patient’s Accounts section relating to accounts receivable control, billings and collection and eligibility determination. In lieu of direct staff reporting if these functions are outsourced to a third-party vendor, will serve as the liaison as well as supervises the vendor and ensure that these functions are being performed. Also, have the capability to re-perform the functions of the vendors and access to various systems needed for patient’s accounts. Must have the knowledge of the various insurance payer’s, providing daily applications of cash processing and reconciliation of payments to the hospital accounts receivable. Review A/R to ensure all payments are posted correctly and appropriately.   Essential Functions  - Download electronic payments from Various systems and various Insurances Companies and post to Hospital Accounts Receivable. - Post checks received daily by mail to the hospital Accounts Receivable. - Provide these checks to Finance for deposit scanning to the bank account. - Reconcile cash posting transactions to the Daily Cash Journal Report on a daily basis. - Investigate unidentified cash receipts and post to the appropriate accounts. - Accurately complete an Audit spreadsheet of all Cash posting transactions and forward to the designated departments. - Review EOB (Explanation of Benefits) and allowance the accounts accordingly. - Scan all remittance to the assigned vendors in a timely manner. - Perform Cash Posting audit at the end of the day to ensure all activities from lock box, vouchers and Finance office are balanced. - Process all payment through the electronic credit card machine and submit to Finance timely. - Scan, send and reconcile all Payments daily. - Participate with quality management (Audit) as needed. - Attend training sessions as specified.
