MAIN FUNCTIONS:

Perform thoroughly and consistently the morning patient room policing schedule:
- Knock, enter patient room and cheerfully greet patients –using name
- Introduce self as the “housekeeper of the day” and explain am policing program –ask if there are any special needs –indicate the full cleaning will occur later in the day
- Police room-check for spills and debris on floor: check condition of waste cans and Rest rooms.
- Empty soiled linen and solid waste containers, if needed, and take material to centralized collection point for the area of the facility or large bags of soiled linen or solid waste, member should reduce the amount of material into enough bags to make the load safe for manual transport.

- After am policing start to perform 10 step interactive cleaning throughout all assigned areas
- Knock enter room and cheerfully great patient- suing name. Re-introduce self, explain cleaning process, request to move items if needed
- High dust (2x weekly)

- Damp wipe furniture, surfaces and ledges
- Spot clean walls, doors and glass clean bathrooms on full discharges carefully fold TP using “V-tip” place tent cards, patient rights hand washing flyer and toilet seat band

Sweep and wet mop floors (if carpet vacuum carpet) – when using micromops, sweeping and mopping can be performed with one pass of the floor with a wet micromop.
